The US has recorded its highest number of confirmed measles cases since the year 2000, adding to fears that falling rates of vaccination are allowing infectious diseases to propagate. The country has recorded 1288 cases so far in 2025,

Michigan has reported 17 confirmed cases in 2025, including recent infections in Kent, Muskegon and Grand Traverse counties.
More people have contracted measles in the US so far this year than in any year in the last three decades. New data from Atlanta-based Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows 1,288 infections this year through 38 states, including Georgia. By comparison, the US recorded 285 measles infections during all of 2024.
