The death happened the same day federal immigration officials descended on the Colony Ridge development for an immigration crackdown operation. There has been no indication that the death is related to the operation.

Texas troopers and federal agents are conducting an operation in Colony Ridge, Gov. Greg Abbott announced Monday, a housing development outside of Houston that has been accused of selling land to undocumented people.

United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials said criminal charges included homicide, theft, child sex abuse and drug offenses, among other things.

State and federal law enforcement are targeting the Colony Ridge Subdivision for criminals and illegal immigrants. FOX 26 Reporter Jade Flury has more.
