The Braves beat the Colorado Rockies on Saturday behind a dominant 13-strikeout performance from Spencer Strider.

The Atlanta Braves started the weekend series on a high note after Friday night’s 12-4 defeat over the Colorado Rockies. Bryce Elder got the ball to start the game; he threw 3.1 mediocre innings and allowed each of Colorado’s runs. The Atlanta offense, however, finally came to life and put together a few crooked number innings.

Kyle Farmer just shrugged when asked about being part of a Colorado team that just made MLB history with the worst 70-game record in the modern era.

But Atlanta isn’t struggling as bad as the Colorado Rockies (13-55), who -- as of June 13 -- are on pace to be Major League Baseball’s worst-ever team at 31-131, remarkably topping the 2024 Chicago White Sox, who set the record for most losses in a season with 121.

Former Atlanta Braves shortstop Orlando Arcia was a hero for the Colorado Rockies Thursday evening. Down 7-6 in the bottom of the ninth with two outs and the bases loaded, Arcia hit a two-run single to win it against the San Francisco Giants.

If the Braves are going to continue getting their season turned around, they will have to take care of business against a rough-looking Rockies team.
