The Devils were third on the power play at a franchise-record 28.2% during the regular season, but went 0 for 2 in their 5-2 loss in Game 4 to the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday.

Frederik Andersen left the game after the Devils’ Timo Meier ran into him in the second period, but the Hurricanes survived and took a 3-1 series lead behind Andrei Svechnikov’s hat trick.

Andrei Svechnikov had a hat trick for Carolina in the 5-2 win. Game 5 of the teams' first-round series is Tuesday in Raleigh.
