SpaceX's Starlink suffered one of its biggest international outages on Thursday when an internal software failure knocked tens of thousands of users offline, a rare disruption for Elon Musk's powerful satellite internet system.

The global satellite internet service appears to be back up and running after a "failure of key internal software services that operate the core network" was repaired.

SpaceX’s Starlink satellite internet service network has been restored after an hours-long outage, the Elon Musk-led unit said on in a post on X.

Elon Musk's companies have benefited from government contracts, including SpaceX through its relationships with the Pentagon and NASA.
