Gov. Jared Polis dropped his plan Tuesday to build a $28.5 million pedestrian bridge on the state Capitol’s grounds after Coloradans overwhelmingly rejected the proposal in a recent survey.

Colorado Gov. Jared Polis has voiced strong opposition to the construction of a pedestrian bridge over Lincoln Street, threatening to chain himself to the Capitol Plaza to prevent it from being built even though he came up with the idea.
