For many people standing on the start line of the London Marathon is a once in a lifetime opportunity, however, for one Shropshire man it is a challenge that he has become "addicted to achieving again and again and again".

The London Marathon route follows its usual course, starting in Greenwich and Blackheath where entrants are split into three lines which converge at the three-mile mark. The route heads east into Woolwich, then back west towards Greenwich town centre, through Rotherhithe and Bermondsey.

“I am lucky to be here still. I should have stopped walking years ago, but I am adamant that I will continue to face the challenge and push through,” he said. “I want to show the MND community, and inspire others, that anything is possible if you set your mind to it.
