The Michigan Wolverines football program has been handed a multimillion-dollar penalty and head coach Sherrone Moore has been given an additional suspension as part of a sign-sealing scandal involving former Michigan football staffer Connor Stalions,

The committee hammered former coach Jim Harbaugh with a 10-year show-cause penalty and hit Connor Stalions, the purported ringleader of the sign-stealing scheme, with a 8-year show-case. A show-cause effectively prevents a person from coaching in college for the duration of the penalty.

NCAA rules that Michigan engaged in a scouting scheme, but it did not impose a postseason ban. Jim Harbaugh is effectively banned from collegiate ranks until 2038.
