DirecTV launched a new FAST service called MyFree DirecTV. FAST networks are growing in popualrity as SVOD subscriber grwoth slows and cord cutting is not slowing down.

The service comes with more than 70 free ad-supported streaming TV channels, as well as thousands of on-demand titles. DIRECTV is continuing to diversify its product offerings as it adapts to the evolution of the video marketplace.

According to Forbes, the MyFree DirecTV service is entering a crowded ad-supported streaming TV market, with more than 650 services on offer in the U.S., since at least 2022. Forbes noted that nearly 5% of streaming is done via free platforms like Tubi, the Roku Channel and Paramount's Pluto service.

Hoping to tap into the fact that one in four U.S. consumers are now viewing free curated video services daily, DirecTV is working with programmers like A&E, Fox, Lionsgate, Scripps and others to distribute an lineup of popular FAST (free ad-supported streaming TV) channels on MyFree DirecTV.
