Facing a murder charge for his on-duty actions, Christopher Schurr testifies he feared for his life before shooting the motorist during a struggle.

Christopher Schurr testified he feared he "wouldn't be here today" if he did not fatally shoot Patrick Lyoya during a 2022 struggle in Grand Rapids.

During questioning from the jury, Christopher Schurr was asked why he shot Patrick Lyoya in the back of the head. The former Grand Rapids cop says that the gun was pointed in that direction and that it “ended up striking his head”.
