Severe weather threatens the Austin area beginning Friday afternoon. Storms could produce hail, damaging wind gusts, flooding and an isolated tornado.

Severe storms are ongoing across Oklahoma and Northern Texas once again Friday morning. Storms will move east during the day and could reach the Tennessee Valley and Southern Appalachians bringing heavy rain in a short period of time.

A flood watch is in effect for Parker, Tarrant, Dallas, Collin, Rockwall, Ellis, Montague, Cooke, Grayson, Fannin, Lamar, Young, Jack, Wise, Denton, Collin, Hunt, Delta and Hopkins counties through Thursday morning. A flash flood warning is in effect for Freestone County until 7:30 p.m.

As storms continue moving through the region, much of North Texas is under a flash flood warning, with up to 3 inches of rain forecast in some parts.
