The Ole Miss Rebels did not meet much resistance on Friday night in a series-opening win over the Wright State Raiders.

By Jeff Roberson  Ole Miss starter Hunter Elliott had seven strikeouts and allowed just one hit during five innings Friday, guiding the Rebels to a 9-1 victory over visiting Wright State in the first of three games this weekend in Oxford.

A six game win streak is a hell of a thing in college baseball - it can change the course of the season as it represents more than 10 percent of regular season games played. It’s what Ole Miss (7-1) is currently riding as Wright State (3-3) comes to town for a three game series.

The No. 24 Ole Miss Rebels are on a winning streak on the baseball diamond, emerging victorious in six straight games after dropping a run-rule loss to the Texas Longhorns in the Shriners Children's College Showdown in Arlington.
