We're nearly a week away from the Detroit Lions having to finalize their 53-man roster on Aug. 26 (4 p.m.). Following the Lions ' 24-17 preseason loss to the Miami Dolphins at Ford Field on Saturday, we've got a brand-new roster projection coming hot off the presses.

The Detroit Lions are nearing the end of the preseason. Through three exhibition games, the Lions have begun to gain some clarity as it pertains to position battles and players fighting for spots on the roster. The group will have one more opportunity in a game setting to make claims for spot, as well as a joint practice with the Texans coming up.

Hendon Hooker I've had Allen and Hooker going back and forth all summer long, but this game sealed it. Kyle Allen is not only taking the QB2 job, but he's taking what will probably be the only other quarterback spot on the roster.
