Wildfire erupts in Myrtle Beach, causing evacuations from neighborhoods
HORRY COUNTY, S.C. — A wildfire in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, has forced residents from multiple neighborhoods to evacuate the area. The South Carolina Forestry Commission estimates the fire spans nearly 1,200 acres. Horry County Fire Rescue reports that firefighters are working to contain the blaze, which is affecting the Carolina Forest area.
North Myrtle Beach Fire Rescue is assisting Horry County firefighters with a fire near North Myrtle Beach High School.
