According to the weather service there have been 16 Level 4 risks forecasted two days out. The last time that happened in Alabama was April 10, 2024, and there was one confirmed tornado. There have been 35 moderate risks for Alabama in the Day 1 forecast, and the last one included just a sliver of west Alabama on Dec. 28, 2024.

We have declared Saturday as a First Alert Weather Day due to the risk of tornadoes, very large hail and damaging wind. While the precise locations and timing of the greatest storms are still unclear,

SATURDAY: Off and on rain and storms are likely through the day, but main line will move through Saturday night. Highs will be around 70. It will be very windy with gusts to 40+mph during the day and near 60 mph with the line late Saturday night. That line will move through between 9 PM and 6 AM. Tornado risk will remain very low.
