Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum suffered a torn right Achilles tendon during Monday night's playoff loss to the Knicks, the team announced Tuesday. Hauser suffered an ankle sprain in the Celtics’ Game 1 loss last week against the Knicks after he landed awkwardly following a 3-point contest of OG Anunoby. He went through an intense workout on Monday with coaches on the floor at Madison square Garden.
On Monday, Tatum earned his 28th playoff game with a 20+ point half, the most of any NBA player in the span of 2020 and 2025. He finished the first half of the game with 20 points, six rebounds, two steals and two blocks.

The Celtics face an elimination game for the first time since the 2023 playoffs as they host the Knicks for Game 5 at home.
