In the main event, middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis (23-2 MMA, 9-0 UFC) takes on undefeated challenger Khamzat Chimaev (14-0 MMA, 8-0 UFC). The co-feature will see unbeaten Lerone Murphy (16-0-1 MMA, 8-0-1 UFC) welcome UFC newcomer Aaron Pico (13-4 MMA, 0-0 UFC).
Silva (19-5 MMA, 5-1 UFC) outworked Barbosa (8-4 MMA, 2-2 UFC) for a unanimous decision on the preliminary card at United Center in Chicago. Although all three judges scored each round the same, the fans seemed to be surprised Silva got the nod – as did members of the ESPN broadcast crew.
