Yordan Alvarez is swinging the bat like he’s ready to return to the Astros' lineup. Alvarez roped three hits, including a pair of doubles, in his second Minor League rehab outing on Thursday night for Double-A Corpus Christi.

Yordan Alvarez was set to play left field Friday night in Corpus Christi, his first time in the field since being injured in May.

Houston Astros star slugger Yordan Alvarez will continue his rehab assignment at Double-A Corpus Christi on Sunday as the designated hitter, according to The Athletic's Chandler Rome. Alvarez began his rehab assignment on Tuesday and has played in three games for the Hooks.
