A new pro sports team could soon call Nashville home! The potential ownership group, which includes some true star-power, submitted a bid to bring the next WNBA team to Music City.
Former Tennessee governor Bill Haslam has submitted a bid for the team in Nashville. The team’s ownership group also includes UT legends Candace Parker, Peyton Manning and other big stars. The new expansion franchise, if granted, would begin play in the 2028 WNBA season.
News of the Nashville bid comes in the midst of a growth period in the WNBA, which intends to expand to 16 teams by 2028.
