The New Orleans Saints have officially hired Doug Nussmeier as their new offensive coordinator. Nussmeier, who was a star quarterback in college at Idaho, now follows head coach Kellen Moore from Philadelphia to New Orleans, and this is the latest stop for the seasoned football coach.

The Eagles will need to find a new quarterbacks coach for Jalen Hurts after Doug Nussmeier left to join Kellen Moore's staff as the Saints' offensive coordinator.

Doug Nussmeier, the Philadelphia Eagles' quarterbacks coach, is being hired as the New Orleans Saints' new offensive coordinator, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero and Mike Garafolo reported.

The Eagles are losing quarterbacks coach Doug Nussmeier to Kellen Moore and the Saints, according to veteran sports reporter Josina Anderson. Anderson tweeted that the Saints are “working to finalize a deal” with Nussmeier as Moore’s offensive coordinator.

Nussmeier has worked with Moore since they both joined the Cowboys staff in 2018, following Moore to the Chargers and Eagles afterwards.

This will be Nussmeier’s first stint as an offensive coordinator in the NFL, though he has extensive experience running offenses at the collegiate level.
