AMC says movies now start up to 30 minutes after showtime
Under the new deal, AMC will feature up to five minutes of ads after a movie's official start time, along with a 30–60 second "Platinum Spot" before the final trailers.
The deal, announced in early June, will see AMC Entertainment place ads in the “platinum spot,” the highly coveted period immediately preceding a movie’s start.
As shown above, the showtimes for AMC theaters include a very visible note just below where users can filter their search. "Movies start 25-30 minutes after showtime," the AMC disclaimer reads.
