Philadelphia Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarber receives a $100 million contract update amid growing contract speculation.

After rising through the ranks as a top prospect in the Chicago Cubs’ system, Kyle Schwarber quickly lived up to the hype in his 2015 rookie campaign. He ended with a 131 wRC+ in 69 regular season games and followed that up with five homers and an impressive 248 wRC+ in the postseason that year.

After signing a four-year, $79 million deal to join the Phillies in 2022, Schwarber could become a free agent at the end of the season if the Phillies don't lock him into an extension first. And as he leads the National League in homers going into Monday, he's sure to have plenty of suitors if he can keep up his current pace.
