NASCAR has come down heavily on Austin Hill after he took out Aric Almirola at Indianapolis in a retaliatory move.

NASCAR on Tuesday suspended Austin Hill for one Xfinity Series race for intentionally crashing Aric Almirola at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Richard Childress Racing said Cup Series driver Austin Dillon will replace Hill in the Xfinity Series race at Iowa this weekend.

Richard Childress has again defended Austin Hill for the crash involving Aric Almirola. The veteran team owner called Hill an "old‑school racer" and questioned NASCAR's judgment.
