The 'Final Destination' franchise is back, with cleverly staged thrills, gore galore and Kaitlyn Santa Juana leading a 'Bloodlines' cast that includes the late, great Tony Todd.

The premise of “Final Destination” is delightfully simple: If you somehow manage to cheat death, the grim reaper will claim your soul through a series of lethal, Rube Goldberg-esque traps. But like so many other long-running horror franchises, the rules that guide the “Final Destination” universe have become increasingly complicated over time.

There's always one last destination, and this time around, audiences are being taken all the way back to the very beginning where Death first made its mark. After Warner Bros. carved out a successful theater takeover with "Minecraft" and sank its teeth even deeper with "Sinners,
