Star winger Matthew Tkachuk still hasn’t decided if he’s going to have surgery to remedy a pair of injuries with the Florida Panthers just under two months away from beginning the 2025-26 NHL season and their quest for a third consecutive Stanley Cup.

Florida Panthers star forward Matthew Tkachuk could miss two to three months if he decides to have surgery on his torn adductor muscle and sports hernia injury, he told ESPN on Friday.

However, that conquest could be delayed significantly due to a massive injury update. According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman on his "32 Thoughts Podcast," star forward Matthew Tkachuk could miss the start of the 2025-26 regular season while he recovers from a myriad of ailments suffered during the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
