As President Donald Trump prepared to host a military parade in Washington to mark the 250th anniversary of the Army and his 79th birthday, thousands of Atlanta residents took to the streets for ‘No Kings’ protests across the Atlanta metro area.

Another wave of protests is set to take place across Georgia this weekend as part of a national day of action against the Trump administration.

ATLANTA — Thousands of people are expected to participate in protests across north Georgia on Saturday. Organizers are planning nearly two dozen protests all across metro Atlanta and north Georgia as part of the nationwide “No Kings” demonstrations against President Donald Trump and his policies.

Thousands of residents from across metro Atlanta mobilized on Saturday morning for the “No Kings” rallies against the actions of the Trump administration. A rally in DeKalb County at the corner of Northcrest and Chamblee Tucker roads ended in tear gas being deployed when protesters tried to block the road and were met by police in riot gear.

Metro Atlanta and numerous towns in the state of Georgia joined cities, towns and communities across the nation on June 14 for a day of protests and demonstrations.

Around 2,000 protests were planned on Saturday in opposition to President Donald Trump. Large crowds turned out in cities like Portland, Denver, Chicago, Houston and Los Angeles – and in smaller communities in traditionally conservative areas.
