The PlayStation Network has been back up and running for a bit now, after a major outage took PlayStation 5 and PS4's online features offline for roughly 24 hours at the end of last week. To make up for the extended downtime,

"All PlayStation Plus members will automatically receive an additional 5 days of service," reads a post on X from the official PlayStation support account @AskPlayStation. Five free days of service isn't a bad trade for an issue that lasted around half a day.

PlayStation Network was hit with an outage and remained offline for many users through most of Saturday leaving them frustrated.

Sony blamed an operational issue for the 20-hour service outage, which affected console gamers on the PlayStation Network over the weekend.

Users on social media had complained that they could not access their games after the unexplained outage began on Friday night.
