The man convicted of killing Maryland mother Rachel Morin has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole, bringing an end to a case that has gripped the community of Bel Air for more than a year.

The sentencing of the illegal immigrant found guilty of murdering a Maryland woman, Rachel Morin, in 2023, took place in the Harford County Circuit Court in Bel Air on Monday. Morin’s loved ones gave victim impact statements during the hearing.

Victor Martinez-Hernandez was sentenced Monday to life without parole after hearing directly from her family in open court.
