Stefanik, who represents the state’s 21 st Congressional District, has been nominated by President Donald Trump to serve as U.N. ambassador and her nomination was moved forward by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. If the full Senate confirms her appointment, she would have to resign her seat in Congress to take up the new post.
