Two companies have recently seen their stock prices head higher on optimism about the future growth in AI spending. Palantir Technologies (NASDAQ: PLTR) shares are up 93% from their April low, as of this writing. Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (NYSE: TSM) is up 67% in that same period.

Edwards Lifesciences rose 5.5% after likewise topping Wall Street’s expectations for profit in the latest quarter. It said it saw strength across all its product groups, and it expects profit for the full year to come in at the high end of the forecasted range it had given earlier.

U.S. stocks advanced and the dollar firmed on Friday as investors girded themselves for the week ahead, which includes a Federal Reserve policy meeting, crucial corporate results and U.S. President Donald Trump's August 1 deadline for negotiating trade deals.
