The Royals entered the season with raised expectations after their young core helped guide them to their first postseason appearance since their 2015 championship. So far here in 2025 they have gotten great results from their pitching staff but their offense has been a major let down,

KANSAS CITY — With Aaron Judge resting for the first time this season, the Yankees’ season finale against the Royals on Thursday night was moving along quickly with no one scoring through five innings. Then it started raining while the Yankees mounted a sixth-inning rally and the game was stopped at 7:59 p.m., Central time.

Aaron Judge homered for the third consecutive game, helping the Yankees to a 6-3 win over the Royals on Wednesday night.

Inclement weather in Kansas City has pressed pause on the game between the Yankees and Royals in the top of the sixth.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - In the visiting half of the sixth inning, Thursday night's Yankees-Royals game went into a rain delay. The game was scoreless at Kauffman Stadium, and Royals' starter Seth Lugo had just been replaced - with runners at first and second, two out - when the rain began falling and tarp was rolled out.

Still, Jazz Chisholm Jr. and Royals infielder Maikel Garcia are trying to do their part.

Chisholm left the game shortly after he stole third in the sixth inning. Chisholm got banged up on the play, hurting his neck. Garcia, trying to catch the throw from home while applying a tag, saw his glove connect with Chisholm’s helmet as the Yankee slid face-first into the Royal’s shin.
