Former Los Angeles Fire Chief Kristin Crowley announced on Thursday she is appealing Mayor Karen Bass’ decision to fire her a week ago.

Kristin Crowley has appealed her termination as LAFD chief to the Los Angeles City Council after she was dismissed from the position nearly a week ago by Mayor Karen Bass. Under the city charter, Crowley would need the support of 10 of the council’s 15 members to be reinstated as chief.

The Los Angeles City Council will hold a hearing Tuesday to reconsider reinstating former Los Angeles Fire Department Chief Kristin Crowley, who needs 10 votes to overturn the mayor's decision.
