After Jalen Suggs was ruled out indefinitely with a trochlea cartilage injury in his left knee, the Orlando Magic guard said Saturday that he aims to return to play this year as he restarts his injury recovery process.

After an MRI on Friday revealed he has a trochlea injury in his left knee, and with arthroscopic surgery being considered, Jalen Suggs is leaving open the possibility that he’ll be able to return before the Orlando Magic’s regular season finishes on April 13.

Before the Magic met the Cavaliers on Tuesday inside Kia Center, Jalen Suggs went through what he described as a “great workout” that included defensive work, shooting and conditioning when he continued to rehab a left quad contusion. He believed he was close to returning to the court after more than a month off it.
