After an unexpectedly awful 6-11 season in 2024, the 49ers endured a painful cost-cutting offseason in which they parted with eight starters. The exodus included four players who have earned Pro Bowl honors and the heartbeat of the defense in linebacker Dre Greenlaw.

In the 2023 season, Huff racked up 10 sacks, 21 quarterback hits, and 29 total tackles. He has had some troubles with injuries as of late, so he and the Niners will be hoping that he can stay on the field and make his impact felt.

Edge rusher Bryce Huff is happy to be back with 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh. Huff had 10 sacks playing for Saleh in 2023 when Saleh was the head coach of the Jets and turned that into a three-year deal with the Eagles as a free agent.
