The San Antonio Spurs were named as a preferred trade destination for Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant, but it sounds like they're out of the running for another star player.

In a new episode of his must-listen podcast "The Zach Lowe Show," The Ringer's Zach Lowe spoke with colleague Kirk Goldsberry about why the Spurs, for one, appear to be uninterested in making a deal for Durant: the asking price.

All along, we've heard that three teams were at the top of Kevin Durant's list: the San Antonio Spurs, Houston Rockets and Miami Heat. All three made varying degrees of sense. There was not, at least initially, any separation within that group. They were listed together.
